Why Should I Be Pre-Approved?

It is extremely important that you connect with a qualified lender. I can recommend a few lenders who have earned my trust through the years. The lender will review your finances to determine the price range most suited for your ability to pay and personal comfort level.

The pre-approval process will help you in the following ways:

  • You won't waste time considering homes you cannot afford. You will know in advance how much money you qualify to borrow. You will know how much your monthly payments will be based on the purchase price you are considering.
  • You can select the best loan for you without being under the pressure of time. There are many options and programs to choose from and your lender will assist you in finding the one that is best suited for your needs.
  • A pre-approval letter is more reliable than a pre-qualification letter. This tells the seller you have already been through the loan process and are just awaiting a home. This give you more leverage in negotiations with the seller. They are generally more eager to work with someone already approved for financing.
  • You will have an estimate of your closing costs and your lender will explain them to you in detail.
  • Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to develop a working relationship with a trusted lender-a person you can ask questions of, throughout the process of looking for a home.
